Physiotherapy Education
Liam Gibson holds a Bachelor of Science majoring in Physiology from the University of Melbourne and a Bachelor of Physiotherapy from Charles Sturt University in Orange, NSW. His strong interest in exercise, movement and human performance has led him to commence a Master of Clinical Physiotherapy (Sport and Exercise) at Curtin University.
Liam is committed to continually developing his clinical knowledge and uses current evidence to guide his assessment, treatment and rehabilitation. He has also developed a special interest in radial shockwave therapy and its application in the management and rehabilitation of a range of musculoskeletal conditions, especially achilles tendinopathy and plantar fasciitis.
Physiotherapy Experience
Liam gained broad clinical experience working in private practice in regional New South Wales, where he treated people with a wide variety of sporting and musculoskeletal injuries. His experience includes knee ligament and meniscal injuries, shoulder and tendon problems, achilles and knee tendinopathies, elbow injuries, neck pain and low back pain.
Liam also has extensive experience helping people recover following surgery, with a particular focus on restoring strength, movement and confidence so they can return to their normal activities and sport.
His approach combines hands-on treatment, exercise-based rehabilitation and education. Liam particularly enjoys working with active people and gym-goers, helping them understand their injury and develop a practical rehabilitation plan to get back to doing what they enjoy.
Personal Life
Liam has a strong sporting background, having played elite volleyball for more than 18 years and competed in tennis for over 25 years. His sporting experience has given him a genuine understanding of the demands that injuries can place on athletes and active people.
Outside of physiotherapy, Liam enjoys strength training in the gym and staying active. His passion for exercise and sport extends into his work, where he enjoys helping others improve their strength, performance and physical confidence.
